Roof Repair with Flashing
Our client had a leak between his screened in porch and his house. He needed this leak fixed so it would not harvest mold or water damage near his home. In order to fix this leak problem, we bid to install step flashing between each shingle. We would then install counter flashing over the step flashing and seal that to the wall.
How we Installed the Flashing
We first separated the individual shingles. We then installed the step flashing between the shingles. After that, we installed the counter flashing over top of the step flashing against the wall and sealed that to the wall with clear geocel caulking. We painted the counter flash to match the house paint.

Installing this flashing is not an extremely difficult tasl. It only took us about a few hours to complete this job. It is possible for regular homeowners to try to install step flashing on their own, but every time I have heard about someone who has tried to install in on their own, they have usually messed it up or installed it wrong. Improper installation just makes the process of fixing it hard, so it is best to call a professional first off!
